Hello Guys,
Barbarlagos is one of the new spots that opened up in lekki during the holidays (December last year). The new spot is fascinating because of the concept having a barbers shop and a bar in the same location, it is pretty much the first of its kind.
During the holidays the spot hosted a couple of events to get people to know about the spot and we invited our crew to check out barbarlagos with us. As you already know there is no better time to enjoy the company of friends like at a bar and we were hoping it won’t be as busy as every lagos bar during that period.
Summary
The ambiance at barbar lagos is almost perfect. They have an outdoor space to chill and then the bar is a bit private, you will enjoy the simplicity with the unique art decor on the walls.
As you can imagine the ladies were so excited to try out the cocktails because we met one of the owners earlier and he talked about their signature cocktails.
Time to place our orders, almost everything on the drinks menu was not available which was quite disappointing for 5 ladies out on a friday night. One of us managed to get what she ordered for Flat top cocktail, then it was time for finger foods and it got even harder placing an order.
It was almost like the waiters did not know what they had or did not have because they got us so confused people couldn’t be bothered to order anymore. So we noticed they had sweet potato fries on their menu along with gizzard. We ordered for this with confirmation that it was available, also one other person placed an order for the mini burgers.
After waiting for like 40 minutes to get the flat top cocktail, we waited another extra 30minutes to get the food out. They gave us plantain chips while we waited tho. To our surprise we got served irish potato fries really annoying plus the waiter came back to say they did not have gizzard so the experience was already annoying. To top it all up, they served the mini burgers option and it was only 1. On the menu it stated 2 for N1000.
It was almost like a Joke because we both rejected it as it was not what we ordered and we were not satisfied paying for it. We paid for the cocktail and all 5 walked out and no one even tried stopping us.
For an exploring experience with the ladies, this did not go down well at all.
What we had & where
Flat top cocktail – N1500
Mini burger option – N1000
Potato fries – N500
I went to get a haircut in the morning and with the service I got, I chose to believe that it was still early (11am) for them. I did not see any menu. I wasn’t even told how much my cut cost until I finished (N2000). I assumed, from photos I’d seen, that I’d be offered cocktails while I cut lol. The tv wasn’t even working.
The only good part of my trip there was that my barber was very good (which tbh is the only reason I would go back). N2000 is a lot for just a haircut though so may try another barber out first before I settle.
