My nails have been an eyesore!! Prior to visiting Beyond Beauty I’d been trying to hide my nails in the pictures I’ve been taking for RN, but naaaa, the nails were still showing. I’d have LOVED to return to Dreams & Desires but…ReviewNaija. And that, my friends, is how I ended up at Beyond Beauty.
Beyond Beauty is a beauty salon in Lekki Phase 1. It offers all sorts of beauty services such as manis, pedis, waxing, gele tying, makeup, etc. It even has a spa!
My Experience:
Beyond Beauty is really a house that they turned into a salon. I wasn’t sure whether I could park in the compound (plus the space looked tight) so I parked on the street. The salon is in the front of the compound and the spa in the back.
I entered the salon and received prompt attention. The space looked clean and well maintained. There were only two customers, so I didn’t quite understand why I had to wait to be attended to. But I waited for about 30 minutes and didn’t mind because I had to soak off the gel polish on my fingernails. Plus, I was quite entertained as Naija jams were being playing on a TV.
I got a mani and pedi and was very impressed! Michael did an Amazing job with the pedi, so much so that I had to give him a generous tip. My feet still feel very soft couple days later. I also liked that he recommended a very nice nail polish color for me. With the mani, I had asked for a gel manicure, but unfortunately only got to do the gel polish without a manicure (so the fingernail polish didn’t come out as great). I realize that this could just have been a terminology confusion. Plus, I could have easily insisted on the manicure, but didn’t as I had already spent 2 hours at the salon. I was ready to leave so I just let him continue.
I genuinely liked the service at Beyond Beauty. At some point it got really hot. I mentioned this and Michael brought me a fan so I could cool off. I also liked that there was a price list (see photo gallery) so I knew exactly what to expect. The one thing I didn’t like was that Michael decided on his own that I needed a “spa pedi” vs. regular pedi and went ahead to give me the spa pedi, which cost 1000 NGN more. What if I couldn’t afford it? I’d have preferred if he’d informed me first and let me make that decision. My bill came up to 7k (4k pedi, 2k5 gel polish, 500 dissolving of gel polish), and I paid via POS.
Overall, I had a good experience and recommend this salon. I hear that there’s a Lizzy who works here and is very good at waxing, especially eyebrows. I didn’t give Lizzy a try because I thread my eyebrows.
PS – I’m still looking for a place to thread other than ShoMya . Please drop any recommendations in the comments box below or shoot me an email .
Best eyebrows service I’ve received in Lagos. Go here and ask for Lizzy! #eyebrowsonfleek
I came here last week and got a mani pedi by Divine! He was very good and I was super impressed with the service. Most interesting, at the end, my card didn’t work with their POS and the manager let me go (without side eye or judgement), I eventually paid 3 days later when I was in the area.
My reason for 4 stars though: the pedicure basin was rusty and the water smelled, but it’s Lekki and I understand the Lekki water struggle. In general, they should work on the rust in the pedicure basin.
Yanga beauty and stella’s addiction. Both in Lekki.
You’re the real MVP Zainab! Thanks girl! ?
