Bottles is a Mexican Bar and Grill with a sports bar feel that offers TexMex dishes. The restaurant is located in a hidden close off Olosa Street in Victoria Island. There is lots of street parking available in the evenings, however, I wouldn’t recommend parking far away and walking down in heels as the road isn’t tarred.
Food: Bottles has an extensive menu with all the major Mexican Dishes so there’s a variety of appetizers and mains to pick from. We had a sizable portion of wings to start off and all ordered individual plates for mains. I had the Muchos Grande burger which cost #2800 and comes with chips and salad. For the name, the burger was quite small but it was a very good cut of tender fresh meat. My sisters got the spicy tequila prawns accompanied with garlic butter sauce & plated on a beautiful bed of pineapples (cost #4000 & was quite small), and a portion of chicken and beef fajitas (#3700). Overall, food portions at Bottles are slightly smaller given that TexMex portions are usually huge.
Drinks: Bottles is known for their Frozen Margaritas and boy are they amazing! I would say only Sailors in Lekki has topped this one. We got a pitcher of Strawberry Margaritas for #6500 and it served each of us 3 rounds in the cocktail glass cup pictured below.

Ambiance/Décor: I am a sucker for fine dining and not really a pub girl but Bottles works for a fun night out with a large group of friends/family. Bottles has more of a pub feel with large indoor and outdoor wooden bench sitting areas, huge TVs tuned to sports stations, and loud crowds of people drinking and chanting. There’s also a live band to entertain the crowd on some nights. Like with most places in Nigeria, smoking is permitted indoors and it can be a bit overbearing for those who can’t stand cigarette stenches. We opted to seat outside as I always do in places that offer this option, however, sitting outside Bottles on a really crowded night isn’t a good idea as it can get rowdy.
Service: I’ll say the service was an 8/10 because our waiter was extremely friendly, quick with taking our orders and totally sensitive to our needs. We even got 2 complementary servings of Nachos with guacamole and salsa. In addition, the food came out just in time; not too quick that it might have been frozen and just warmed in the microwave, and not too slow to chew on nachos crumbs.
Overall Value: We found Bottles very affordable especially their drinks which cost between 1k5-2k5/glass and 6k5/pitcher. Appetizers cost between 1k8-2k5 and mains 2k8-6k. The only thing we found disappointing was the breakdown of the bill. We basically got the sum total of the food and drinks, a 10% service charge, and to our surprise, an additional 10% ‘consumption tax’ which we are still trying to understand.
All in all, it was a very good night out that cost each of us just over 7k. I’d say the most value for money was definitely the pitcher of Strawberry Margaritas. I would definitely be coming back here with a bunch of friends for cocktails!
Went on the 6k5 tuesdays unlimited wings n beer night. If you’ll really drink a lot of beers then its worth it. Otherwise, dont bother. Chicken wings were ok. I ordered a la carte and wasn’t impressed w the food. Magarita was just ok too.
