My friend’s birthday had passed, but she still wanted to do something small in the dorm, like a mini get together, so she assigned me to get the cake. Something good, but not expensive. (It’s the new year lol, money has finished). I decided to get cupcakes since we were small in number and well, they are quite affordable.
I checked out dealdey.com to find out if they had cupcake deals and just out of sheer luck, there was one open. The previous price was 2k5 but it had been slashed to 1k5. You can imagine how glad she was! Well, it was a box of 12 cupcakes; 3 flavors – Vanilla, Chocolate and Red velvet (My Fav!!! Too yummy) with Butter Frosting Ice cream *Sigh*. Y’all know I’m a foodie on a diet right??? Lol. Anyways, I placed my order on the 12th of January and I was too excited because delivery was free. I wanted to click on the pay on delivery button when I realized I would have to pay an extra 500 naira. 500 for what???? I sharply paid with my ATM card.
After Purchasing and all, I waited patiently for a call from dealdey or buttermilk confectionaries, and I didn’t get any. After chilling for 3 days, I decided to call the store, and ask why I didn’t get a call from them and asked if my order had been received. They responded that it was my job to do the calling since it’s a promo. I didn’t even have the strength to argue since I’d just finished an important paper. I just told them about the order and promised to send my name, address and coupon number which I did immediately the call ended. I also asked for the cake to be delivered on Friday, 17th January by 5pm.
I called on Friday to find out when my order would arrive, and the guy said he wasn’t sure I would get my order then because, they had few orders from yaba, and since delivery was free to my area, they needed a lot of orders. Well, I was already ready to write a serious review on them, but in the end, they did come through with the cupcakes!!! They arrived around 6pm, which wasn’t bad considering the fact that they were contemplating on not coming.
The cakes were okay. I didn’t really like the red velvet, it tasted stale. The chocolate was fine, and the vanilla was my favorite (much to my surprise). I doubt I’ll use their service anymore. I’ll just keep scouting for nice affordable places I can order cakes…
