I came to the George Hotel for Deettii’s single launch party. I had been seeing pictures of the place online and I really liked how it looked.
The George is relatively easy to find as it is on Lugard avenue on the right of Alfred Rewane (if you’re coming from VI.) The parking lot is very spacious and I was surprised that such a huge expanse of land exists in Ikoyi!

There were two security guards who politely welcomed me in and the lobby was very modern and superbly lit. The event was held at the rooftop terrace (Otium Terrace), which has a pool. It has a lounge arrangement with outdoor wood/basket woven hard chairs.
Food, Drinks & Pricing: Finger food and continental bites like chicken wings cost N4000, croaker fish and chips N5500, goat and beef kebabs N4300, goat, fish and chicken pepper soup N3600. Cocktails cost around N2800 for Mojito, N4500 for a Mai Tai and N2800 for Pina Colada. Shots cost N2500. Luckily for us, the listening event we attended was sponsored by Bacardi so they gave us free shots.
My sister ordered BBQ wings and french fries while I just had a Pina Colada, which was sweet but I couldn’t taste any alcohol. I like a little bit of kick in my drinks. The waiters were courteous and offered a 50% discount on all menu items because of the event going on so they were very kind to my pocket. Unfortunately I couldn’t stay long because it started raining heavily so we all fled the scene.
I liked that Da Vinci wasn’t rowdy when I visited, and the food and drink service was quick in spite of the number of people there. I would recommend Da Vinci for a chilled date night with your babe if you don’t want to run into everyone else in Lagos (at like 355 lol).
I’ll give Da Vinci a tentative A because I still have to experience the place on a normal day when nothing is going on. I also need to try more of the menu items, but my first experience there was a pleasant one and I shall surely be returning.
