Dealdey SellerZone
How did you hear about this business? What services do they offer?
I heard about this SellerZone service from a friend who also sells her goods on dealdey.
Basically the service allows any vendor to sell their product or service at a discount on the dealdey platform. When a customer buys your discounted item, the vendor gets 80% of the price of the product and dealdey collects 20% for using their service.
When the customer pays for the product or service, Their money goes to DealDey’s account and DealDey gives them a coupon in exchange. The customer then brings this coupon to you the vendor to redeem their product and gives the vendor their coupon voucher.
The vendor uploads the customer’s redeem code on the coupon to the dealdey site so that dealdey can pay the vendor 80% of the price of the product.
What service have you received?
Dealdey provides a selling platform for your business to attract patronage and offer customers discounts. Dealdey oversees the transaction and gives the vendor renumeration for their service after the customer has paid.
What’s pricing like at this establishment?
The pricing for DealDey’s service is 20% of each transaction. This is pretty high if you’re not making a large margin on the service or product you’re selling but it seems to be the standard for E-commerce in Nigeria.
What do you like about this establishment?
I like the idea as it makes online marketing easy.
What don’t you like about this establishment?
Dealdey takes forever to pay the vendors back after they’ve redeemed customer coupons. In one case especially, I had to wait SIX WEEKS to get paid. Had my business been depending solely on DealDey, it would have crashed because they kept giving excuses and breaking promises that they will pay. I am strongly considering using other e-commerce and marketing platforms.
Also the process of making the DealDey advert is very tedious. Their software only allows for a certain size of picture that can be uploaded to showcase your deal. It almost took me 3 hours of adjusting and adjusting to make a post that was acceptable to their system.
The frustrating photo cropping and selection
Do you have a favorite memory/item from this establishment?
I liked seeing my business offerings online and getting calls from new customers due to the exposure from DealDey.
What would be your advice to this business?
Pay back on time. Time is money!
On a scale of 1-10, what would be your overall rating of this business?
6/10
I don’t quite understand this bad habit of not paying people! Big Shame dealdey. I hear companies in Nigeria can withhold salary payment for as long as 6 months and folks continue to work…that’s just evil!
Btw I had no idea of the SellerZone process. So hypothetically speaking, one never uses their coupon but did make a purchase, dealdey will keep 100% of the proceeds and the seller won’t get a dime?
