My mum was celebrating her birthday and we needed to get a cake. I was going to use Vanilla House , but my friend suggested Fifi’s Oven. Prior to this occasion, I had never heard of them, however my friend vouched for them.
MY EXPERIENCE:
My mum’s birthday was on a Sunday and by Thursday I had made no plans. By Friday, I finally contacted Fifi’s Oven via Whatsapp and made some enquires. I was interested in getting a 10 inch vanilla and red velvet cake. I also requested for ‘Happy Birthday Mummy” to be inscribed on the cake. The representative was knowledgeable and very quick to respond. In less than 10 minutes, I was given a quote and an account number as I had to transfer money before work could begin. The cake cost 13,000 NGN excluding delivery. Delivery cost 2,500 NGN to my location (Okota) so I opted for pickup.
Fifi’s Oven is open all through the week except Sundays so I had to pick up by 4pm on Saturday. On getting there, I realized they had made a mistake with the inscribed words. They wrote “Happy Birthday Mum” and that wasn’t what I asked for. I immediately asked for it to be corrected and after about 45 minutes, it was corrected.
THE CAKE:
I loved the cake! It was creamy, moist and very delicious. In fact, everyone that had a piece of the cake loved it. The red velvet tasted really good.
OVERALL RATING:
I rate Fifi’s Oven an 8/10. Basically because the cake was delicious. However, I was upset with how long it took for them to correct a simple mistake. I will definitely patronize them again, especially for bae’s upcoming birthday.
Lol. Fifi’s Oven ALWAYS gets their spellings wrong. My hubby has ordered enough cakes for me from them & every single time, I shake my head. Their cakes taste really good though. Very moist. And the icing is very creamy. I’m about ordering for one – hopefully they surprise me with their spelling this time ?
