I didn’t visit the Four Point Sheraton Hotel to lodge there so I have no idea what that feels like. I was there as a visiting student to attend the Nigerian Dental Association Biennial General Meeting holding in one of their conference rooms…(did I mention that I’m a dentist in the making? I’m sure I did :D)
The building is a very grand one and the outside speaks opulence. Little did I know that it has got nothing on the inside! My mouth fell open.. really! It was what I imagined the Burj Al Arab in Jumeirah to look like (okay I’m exaggerating) but it was really beautiful. Everything was spick and span and in its place. Even the chairs fascinated me. Then we were led to the conference room the meeting was to take place in and it was tiny… Yep I said it. I began to have a bad feeling about coming and true to my prediction, when doctors came and there was no room for them, they asked us students to KINDLY step out.
Thankfully, it was after acquiring the password for their internet wi-fi connection and none was the loser. Went back to the reception and helped myself to their wi-fi. And oh boy, was it fast. Their buffet services was awesome also and I had a great lunch.
Bittersweet experience.
