We recently discovered a recent development at my church, RCCG TOWER OF DAVID – people are super hungry after service! So we decided to put up a shawarma stand. We contacted GRILL EXPRESS, and the owner brought samples over for the church administration. Sadly, I wasn’t available to have a taste, but I did look forward to trying him on Sunday. Grill Express is located in Festac, but the CEO is mobile; he goes wherever there is business.
This past Sunday I ordered 1 beef and hotdog sharwarma, since that’s the only option available to our church audience at the moment. I was told it’d be about 7 minutes, but it turned out to be more… lets say about 15 minutes. I wasn’t really bothered as we had a pretty decent conversation while my order was being prepared.. and before I knew it, my shawarma was ready! By the way, I’m proud to announce I actually learnt the art of making sharwarma! (just don’t call me to cater your event sha)…
The shawarma was quite affordable as it cost 600 naira, and tasted really really good. It had more than enough fillings… I can taste it in my mouth as I write this review lol.
My tasty shawarma
This new sharwarma development has given me another reason to go to church, that is, apart from praising God and fellowshipping (which we all know should be the #1 motivation for going to church!) 🙂
Grill Express also caters events – weddings, birthdays, and so on – and they also offer chicken and chips, grilled fish and small chops.
I will rate Grill Express an 8 over 10, based on tasty shawarma, affordable price, and amount of time it took to prepare my shawarma.
Grill express still comes to my church and his business has grown. Shawarma now costs 700-800NGN thanks to the recession but it is still as tasty and even better. So far, no other shawarma has been able to beat them.
