WARNING: I am officially a makeup freak, so if you love me, or care about me please don’t take me to a makeup store unless you are the one paying.
Now! Let’s get to reviewing.
House of Tara is a very popular indigenous makeup brand that offers a wide range of makeup and skincare products here in Naija. They have been around for quite some time and have empowered a lot of women in the country. I have used House of Tara products in the past but was never keen on buying…no reason in particular.
Fast forward to a few weeks back. The Medical Women Association of Nigeria (MWAN) hosted a conference which included various Nigerian brands showcasing/vending their items and House of Tara was present. I had been eyeing their eye shadows and I needed a new bottle of foundation anyway, so decided to check them out.
House of Tara products which include eye shadows, lipsticks, powders, foundation etc. range from 600 Naira to 25,000 Naira. I bought the quad eye shadow palette in Iza shade for 1,500 Naira and an oil free matte foundation for 5,000 Naira.
The attendants were pretty nice and they were glammed up in various House of Tara products which further influenced the ginger to get some of mine. I paid a sum of 6,500 Naira via POS and the transaction was pretty quick. However, I was unhappy with the fact that I wasn’t given a carrier bag for my items, as they claimed to have ran out of bags.
The foundation is the best thing that has ever happened to me since I started collecting makeup! It is beautiful and stays dry all through the day. It’s perfect for oily/combination skin and blends like a second skin. The eyeshadow is also wonderful. It consists of dark shades for the perfect pink/purple smokey eye.
I rate my experience with House of Tara and products a 9 over 10. The products are quite affordable and of top quality.
