So i went to HubCafe yesterday. The one located on Adeola Odeku . This is not my first time there but this will be my first review. Can I just say the location is superb, the ambience is perfect. my only problem is……………..ok when it comes to the ambience of this place I have no problem. Maybe it’s because the location is perfect when I want to wait out that crazy Apogbon traffic *rolling my eyes*
So i wanted the goat meat peppersoup which I’d tried before (and it was good), but that wasn’t available. All they had was fish peppersoup. Now i wanted goat meat p-soup because it was cheaper (N1,000) while Fish P-Soup is N1,500. (I’m on a budget, there’s only so much i can spend waiting out traffic, duh).
Anyhoo i settled for the Fish P-soup which is basically a massive head of catfish. (I believe any other part of the fish wont give me value for my money). The head was massive. Since i was alone, and the place quite empty, I pocket all iota of shame and dug in with gusto and passion. The P-soup was just the right quantity and consistency. While the pepper and spice wont get your nose running it was just perfect for me as I had no intention of taking more than a bottle of Star Radler.
I spent 3 hours there waiting for Eko and Apogbon bridge to clear up and enjoyed every minute of it. The staff are courteous and good looking (they were all guys that day). I’ll recommend it for business casual meetings and a hangout for colleagues to catch a football match together. So kudos to Heineken for this. They have two large screens and you will usually find after work crowd and they serve Heneiken from the tap. The only downside is they close early. 9pm I think. Same time with the shopping center down stairs. So it’s really not a place to chill before heading to the club.
