Inside HY Place
A very important event was coming up and my mother needed to get some textiles to distribute. We decided to get some of them from Oshodi since going to Eko market was more stressful. We had checked a lot of clothing stores and checked out samples before we decided to get all our items from Hy-Place.
First of all, there is hardly ever parking space in front of stores so you would have to park your car in the car park.
Hy-Place is quite big and very neat . The shop looks new and I even had to commend them on their arrangement; it’s pretty easy to see the products they have on display.
We didn’t get to meet the owner of the shop , but we were attended to by 2 sales attendants who at first “appeared” friendly (keep reading and you’ll see why I say “appeared”)
Getting items in stores like these depends on your bargaining power because nothing here is fixed . So, if they tell you an item is 7k, you price down to 4k , until you both agree on a suitable price.
My Mother decided to get lace materials worth 52k. They were quite much , about 15 bags . We wanted to pay via POS but the attendants confessed to not knowing how to use the machine even though it was available .
Anyway, we paid cash. Now , this is where it gets interesting .
Immediately we paid, we were left to arrange and pack our items ourselves. Like, chill, who does that?
I had to ask for one of the workers to assist us with the 15bags of lace, and well, he was willing to help until one of the “friendly” attendants spoke on his behalf and said he was busy. My mother had to speak up , and tell them it was wrong to treat their customers like that .
Anyway , it’s something that happens on a regular in places like these . Once money has been paid, they forget that you actually bought goods from them .
All in all, Hy-place is beautiful. Prices are reasonable, once you’ve bargained well. But get ready to carry your items yourself!
That’s how they behav in oshodi. It is so annoying . Immediately you pay, they don’t care about u again . Reviewnaija, keep up d good work . Happy new month . Waiting for december reviews. Sandra, more grease to ur elbow. Keep writing .
