My HP laptop developed a fault and tbh, I was very scared of taking it to Computer Village. So I had to patronize the authorized Ikeja HP Service Centre, which is operated by a company called Hinckley. My friend had patronized them in the past and had positive things to say, so I was pretty excited. Locating the Ikeja HP Service Centre was quite easy as there is a very large signage in front of the building.

PARKING:

There is ample parking that can comfortably park about 12 – 15 cars inside the complex.

SERVICE:

The Ikeja HP Service Centre offers 2 kinds of services; repair and upgrade. My laptop had refused to power on and unfortunately, the problem wasn’t covered by warranty. I was attended to by a very polite and knowledgeable attendant who explained that I had to drop the laptop for about 2 weeks. Upon dropping the laptop, I was issued a repair receipt. However, I did not receive a price estimate to fix it at the time I dropped my laptop.

A week later, I received a quotation of 36,000NGN along with the bank details. I had to pay into Citibank and because I needed to scan the deposit slip, I couldn’t do an online transfer. Immediately after paying, I scanned the slip and sent it back to the Ikeja HP Service Centre. After 9 working days, my laptop was ready. I presented my repair receipt and collected my laptop.

OVERALL EXPERIENCE AT THE IKEJA HP SERVICE CENTRE:

I will definitely patronize the Ikeja HP Service Centre again if I need to and I rate them an 8/10 because of the following:

I think it makes much more sense if an estimate is provided immediately (instead of after a week) so that customers can be financially prepared.
It took a total of 20 working days before I could get my laptop. It was very difficult locating a Citibank near me, so I had to pay 4 days after the quotation was sent.
I also think 9 working days is a lot of time to fix a laptop; this can be improved.

Hp is really expensive oh. They like charging half the amount you got the laptop for ?
