Finally, the 3rd edition of the Lagos Make Up fair has come and gone, and trust your girl to bring you up to date on everything that went down.
The Make up fair was a 2 day program that ran from June 21st to June 22nd.
I got to hear about it through a bunch of text messages and an email from mymakeup.com.ng. It felt like they were on my case with the amount of texts I got. The thing is, I’m trying to save yeah, and I have more than enough makeup (I’m sort of a collector).
Anyways, I was captivated by the 50% off and decided to check them out on the first day. Unfortunately, my friend slyed me, so I decided to try them the next day, secretly praying they wouldn’t be out of stock on so many products.
The fair held at the prestigious Anchor events center, Redemption close, Next to LTV and it really wasn’t difficult for me to get to the place, thanks to RED CAB. (Review coming soon). I got in, and was welcomed by the bouncers, who were quite friendly… lool.. weird. There were about 20 or more stands in the event center but I didn’t get to check all of them out, as I had a budget and didn’t really need much. Also, I didn’t want to be tempted to buy new products.
I first checked out EVOLVE MAKE UP NIGERIA, a very full stand, with plenty of attendants. Apparently, the major person there was busy giving someone a makeover. I checked out their lip color/lipsticks, some were ridiculously expensive! I was confused because I was sure I read 50% off all make up products. I didn’t even bother to look at the lipsticks; I just concentrated on foundations and powders. I didn’t really fancy the powders available, but I had an eye for the BH Liquid foundation, which I got for 2k5 which I think is pretty reasonable. I also purchased an ELLELLA dark eyeliner, which I am currently in love with! Everything I got cost 2,900 naira, but unfortunately, their POS wasn’t working, so I had to pay with cash.

Then I headed over to STELLA’S ADDICTION, apparently, everybody that came for the fair bought an item from them, and I decided to check them out. I was really interested in getting a lip color or a lipstick. I tried the Magnolia Lipstick in Babe shade, very bright pink, and it turned out nice. I got that for 2,000 naira.
I also purchased the Jordana Eyebrow pencil in the 03 Dark brown shade, it went for 500 naira. So, I spent 2,500 naira at the stand, and I paid with POS. Let me also add that the attendants were super friendly, I was really impressed.

Then, I went to my last stand, The MAYBELLINE Stand, and I was captivated by the colossal kajal!! It is currently being sold everywhere in lagos for nothing less than 2,000 naira, and I saw it for 850 naira. To be honest, I didn’t want to get anything from the Maybelline stand, but I couldn’t resist the urge. Mayebelline also organized a free ‘KNOW YOUR SHADE’ makeover…not a makeover per say, but an opportunity to pick out the right powder shade for your skin tone.
The MAYBELLINE Clear Smooth All in One powder went for an amazing price of 2,000 naira. Trust me to grab the opportunity. Well, I spent, 2,850 at this stand.

I’m major excited and happy I went to this fair. There were loads of gifts for people that purchased items worth over 5,000 naira at the Maybelline stand.
I promise not to buy any makeup product till next year; I think I have enough now.
PS – Watch out for the next make up fair; it’s going to hold at the PEARL ARENA, AREA 3 GARKI ABUJA.
