My friend, Chad, and I had bought the Lotus at Pattaya 2 course meal deal on Dealdey but as a sly, he visited Lotus without me (but I forgive him since he went with his girlfriend). Anyway, after their visit, they both had conflicting reviews so I decided to check out Lotus for myself.
Lotus at Pattaya is an Asian restaurant located in the same building as Pattaya. While Pattaya is downstairs, Lotus is upstairs. They are very easy to locate because the buildings are big and they have a large signage.
PARKING:
There is free and adequate parking in the compound for quite a number of vehicles.
AMBIANCE/DÉCOR:
Interior reminds me of SPICE ROUTE as there are a lot of small Buddha statues and paintings. I wasn’t impressed with the lightning; it was a bit too dull. There were sofas with a lot of pillows and these weren’t really comfortable when eating. There was music playing but I was actually just interested in what was on TV, which I couldn’t hear.
FOOD:
I placed my order almost immediately I arrived. For starters, I had the chicken spring rolls which cost 1,200 Naira and they were the best I’ve ever had in Lagos so far. Starters at Lotus range from 1k2 -2k.
My entrée was chicken skewers and chips. The skewers were perfectly peppered and very tender while the chips, which were served in a mini basket, were well fried and salted. I totally enjoyed my meal. I was literally tempted to get more. Entrees at Lotus range from 1k5 – 4k.
Dessert was Booze free mint choc chip ice cream which I really enjoyed. I was skeptical trying it out at first because Chad hated it but I didn’t really have an option. Ice cream goes for 1k6.
DRINKS:
I got a virgin colada for 1,200 Naira. Basically, it was one of the best I had SEEN so far but it didn’t taste good at all. I mean, it was pretty terrible. 1k2 wasted. I also got a bottle of water for 400 Naira.
SERVICE:
The waiters were polite. They were reassuring and quite friendly. I was so impressed by how friendly they were and even left a tip! However, I didn’t enjoy the fact that all 3 meals arrived at the same time. I mean, starter, entree and dessert arrived to my table at the same time! Kilode!?!?
My bill was 2800 Naira excluding the coupon. I had opted to pay via POS but the POS didn’t work so I had to tender cash. Surprisingly, they had change.
OVERALL LOTUS at PATTAYA EXPERIENCE:
I will rate Lotus an 8 over 10. The food was sooo delicious, I wanted seconds! However, I would have loved for the meals to come one by one instead of all at once. Also, they need proper chairs tbh. The sofas make no sense!
Enjoyment madam Sandra 😉
I feel like I’ve heard about Lotus but more as a good hangout spot for drinks than a restaurant (I could be completely wrong though). Any thoughts on if this is a good nightlife/drinks spot? And is Pattaya like another restaurant?
I feel it would work better as a good hangout spot for drinks because of the decor and all that and yup, pattaya is a different restaurant.
