Folks in Lagos always seem to be looking for a good and affordable tailor, and those who know good and affordable tailors never want to share because they feel like their tailor won’t have time for them again..sigh! Sooooo, I’ve taken it upon myself to try and build out our RN database to include more tailors (see Manoshia review here), and I hope y’all will help us out by sending in reviews too!
With all that said, I introduce to you….*drum roll*…. Ade, owner of Morivick Concepts!
I was introduced to Ade by my younger sister. She swears by Ade and wouldn’t let anyone else sew her clothes, even Buba and Iro! Ade sews everything for her.
I actually like working with Ade. He’s very patient and really takes his time to make sure your outfit turns out the way you want it. As you’d imagine, the fitting is a very important part of Ade’s process, so you’d really have to be patient and be honest if you feel like your outfit isn’t hugging you in the right places. Ade’s also VERY good at replicating a style you show him and can help source the materials needed at an additional cost.
Ade charges about 8k naira (about 40 usd with today’s exchange rate) on average per outfit, and he’s usually very good about having the outfit ready in time.
One thing I’d say though, Ade hasn’t always gotten my clothes right. I’d say he gets it for me like 80% of the the time. However, my sisters outfits are ALWAYS on point…110% of the time what Ade sews for her is exactly what she wants. If I had to explain the discrepancy in our experiences I’d say it has to do with our body types. I think Ade sews great outfits for smaller folks.
In conclusion, I’d recommend Ade’s services, especially if you know EXACTLY what you want and you’re looking for a perfectionist who’s willing to work with you to create the look you want at an affordable price.
Side note – In the spirit of being your brothers and sisters keeper, please share your experiences if you have a BANGING tailor. Don’t be an agent of the enemy! Help someone’s business grow today! Gracias! 🙂
