I am quite a fan of Nigerian movies and I must say that the ROYAL FILM ACADEMY is really doing a good job when it comes to Naija movies. My good friend, Kemi, told me about some scenes in the Mrs Somebody, so I was pretty excited to see it.

Well, this is my first movie review so I will try as much as possible not to spill out all the scenes. The aim of this review is to ginger you to see the movie, if you haven’t already.
Mrs Somebody is a 2012 movie that tells the story of Keira (Uche Jumbo) who is desperate to get married. She is in a relationship with Kufre (Yemi Blaq) and marriage doesn’t seem to be on his mind.
At the beginning of the movie, Kiera attends a motivational singles seminar and the speaker preaches about faith, and how to exercise faith, so as to become a MRS before the end of the year. She decides to put her faith to test and goes shopping for a wedding dress and also begins pressurizing her boyfriend Kufre to marrying her. She takes a step further by moving into his house uninvited.
Kufre dumps her as he is not ready to get married and she is not his type apparently, and she moves on to the next guy, Dapo (Kenneth Okoli). She has another devastating experience with him as he turned out to be married – you will have to see the movie to understand how their relationship got ruined.
After 2 terrible experiences with guys, she decides to let go of guys and relationships because of her assumed bad luck.
She then meets Charles (Bobby Obodo), and things don’t really turn out great with him. Did they get married? I won’t tell, watch the movie to find out.
What I Liked: Uche Jumbo assumed the role very well, and portrayed a 34 year old desperate lady perfectly. She also made her audience laugh in some scenes, most especially where she was praying for the Mr. Right. #hilarious.
Room for Improvement: Dapo’s wife, Tricia, is a TERRIBLE actress. She was so stiff in the movie; I wanted to puke. Some extras in the movie weren’t great at all.
MY OPINION IN GENERAL: I think this movie really hits the mark. I have seen various ladies desperately searching for Mr Right, and they end up making mistakes or getting dumped. It’s unfortunate that a lot of girls think they don’t find Mr Right at the right time. But the thing is, relax! A guy does not define who you are! Don’t think less of yourself because your friends are in that “perfect” relationship and you are not in one (by the way, there’s no such thing as a perfect relationship..sorry to burst your bubble). Chill and Pray, God answereth all.
James 5:7 – Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
Overall, I’ll give this movie 6 over 10 mainly because of the message it portrays, and Uche’s fantastic acting. I encourage everybody to see this movie.
