Mannnnn *in Uriel’s voice*, I’d be lying if I say there’s anything spectacular about Murphy’s Shawarma. I’d come here with such high hopes! I only heard about this spot because the waiter at Pat’s Bar mentioned that their shawarma rival is Murphy’s. And Pat’s shawarma was pretty darn good so I knew I had to check out Murphy’s Shawarma. During my first visit, there was a network problem so I couldn’t pay for the shawarma as I didn’t have cash…so I visited again recently.

Parking

Murphy’s Shawarma is located inside Murphy’s Plaza on Sanusi Fafunwa (right next to L’Afric). There’s parking for like 4 – 8 cars. Street parking is very tight.

Ambiance

Regular fast-food seating with scanty chairs. There were some flies disturbing me as the shawarma was being made.

Shawarma & Service

Service was pretty prompt. Paid with POS this time. Murphy’s Shawarma cost 1400 (chicken shawarma with sausage). I had pretty high expectations for this shawarma and was quite disappointed. It was almost like the shawarma had all the right ingredients but in wrong proportions. I could taste each individual ingredient but the shawarma just didn’t come together and tasted very off. It’s possible this was a one-off for these folks, but their one-off day will unfortunately be my first and last visit.

Overall Murphy’s Shawarma Experience

The guy who made my shawarma wore gloves, yasss for hygiene! But I’m definitely not returning. The shawarma wasn’t worth it at all. In fact, I was so mad I came to VI for this. Should have just gotten my Milano’s Shawarma and called it a day.

Murphy’s also sells other items including pastries, popcorn, small chops, etc.

Its a nice place to get your yummy Shawamah. Their delivery is average based on the location.
