So Sabor has no parking. I just need to put that out there so you know. The front of this amazing bar/restaurant can only take 4 cars.
Now I had heard about this place from a fellow drinkard who hyped this particular drink and I just had to try it. Only for me to get there and no parking. Bear in mind it’s a one-way street so I did no have the option of turning. Then the security guy asked me to reverse as he had a spot for me. If you know me then you’ll know I hate reversing, I hate it with a passion. After reversing I get to the so called space and I’m told I’ll need to pay. I already felt flustered from reversing (it’s hard abeg) and now I have to pay? I didn’t even have cash on me so paying was out of the question. So I’m like he should go call his manager to come sort this out cos I ain’t got cash and I gotta try that drink (I’d been looking forward to it all week). And this security guy just walks off. Jesu!! I saw red. Literally saw red. I’m so Pissed and angry. Why he acting like I’m not about to spend my hard earned money in there. OK enough rambling, one aboki helped me park somewhere.
I storm into the establishment (trust me this ain’t no joint, it’s an establishment) preparing to speak to the manager and give a piece of my mind. But the ambience just cooled my spirit. Like babe calm down. This is not the place you show your warri character. The place is fiiiiiiiiine. The host at the door is friendly and nice. So I dust my British training from the drawer where I kept it and nicely asked for the manager while I walked to the bar (ain’t no way I’m forgiving that security man).
I get to the bar and the bar man is cute (sorry I just had to throw that in there ). I order the famous ol smokey G&T. He asks me if I want it strong, I’m like yes Bro make it strong it’s Friday duh (I said it nicely sha, you can’t misbehave in this kind of place o). Then I asked for the manager again (you didn’t think I had forgetten I hope). This nice cute lady approaches me and I tell her my ish with that security man. Only her smile alone I had forgiven the whole establishment. Don’t know what was done to him but as far as I was concerned they could do no wrong at this point.
My drink comes and ladies and gentlemen it was all I’d heard about and more…..it packed a punch. Wham!!!! I could feel the gin and tonic at the same time. Gosh it’s amaze balls. By the time I’m halfway done I choose to go outside and catch some breeze. Like I said the ambience is everything. I think I’ve found my new favourite spot. There was some 90s song playing and there’s a team bonding going on inside. Lots of couples on dates. You get the picture. It’s really bourgeoisie, if that’s your thing. And the prices are fair. At least my drink was just 2600. I spent 3 hours here and I’m impressed. I even forgave that security man Cos he knows not what he did
