I was still trying to get a new phone and after my disappointing experience at YUDALA , I decided to check out JUMIA and KONGA . Unfortunately, both sites didn’t have my desired phone. I finally decided to visit the Samsung Store at AOS Mall although my friends claimed they were ridiculously expensive.
Samsung is a relatively big store which offers sales of authentic Samsung branded electronics. Think Phones, Cameras, Television etc. Contrary to popular belief, they are actually reasonably priced when compared to online stores.
MY EXPERIENCE:
I had checked out the phone I wanted to purchase earlier in the week, so I was ready to purchase on this particular day. My attendant was okay, polite and was paying attention to me until one of their loyal customers came in to purchase about 3 phones. I was literally abandoned for the guy. While I was buying a Galaxy J5 which is worth 41,000 NGN, he was buying way more expensive phones.
I signaled for her attention because I wanted to pay and leave, but she begged and explained he was an important customer (in simple terms, I’m not important. Ok).
After spending about 45 minutes with the guy, I was then attended to. My phone was presented, upgraded and I paid. Payment was via cash, however POS is available.
I was given a shoprite voucher worth 1,000 NGN and a Samsung jersey. Samsung Nigeria phones come with 2 year warranty, so I was properly registered.
Samsung, Surulere branch is not properly stocked on accessories. I purchased a screen protector for my phone and had to wait several minutes for it to be brought from SLOT , a neighboring shop.
In conclusion, I’m glad I got my phone because I had searched everywhere for it. I will rate Samsung, Surulere a 5/10. It was very rude and unprofessional of them to keep me waiting because another customer who could afford something more expensive was available.
To be very honest, businesses do have special customers…customers that keep the business going. The person in question could have bought stuff worth 6 figures. However, they shouldn’t have abandoned you…you are equally as important. If you were seated in a nice waiting room with TV and refreshments, would your opinion be totally different?
