I finally got a text message from NIMC stating that my National Identity Card was ready and I decided to go with some of my friends who also got texts because the more the merrier. We had to journey all the way to Ikeja as early as possible to avoid long queues and all that.
Anyways, after getting our ID cards we decided to window shop in the mall which is directly opposite the NIMC office. After the “waka about”, we were famished and needed to get delicious, AFFORDABLE food.
I suggested MR BIGGS but my friends decided to try SUMPTUOUS so that I could review them (I have Amazing Friends).
PARKING: There is ample parking at Ikeja City mall. There is no street parking.
AMBIANCE/DÉCOR: Sumptuous is located in the food court section of the mall. It’s basically an eatery so much is not expected in décor. It is quite small and the furniture takes a lot of space so it’s difficult maneuvering as there is no space although the lightening is good for pictures. It is ideal for lunch with friends or colleagues.
FOOD: I got Basmati rice which cost 600 Naira and chicken curry sauce for 650 Naira. I also decided to get a gizzard stick for 700 Naira. Meals range from 400 -2000 Naira and I believe it’s very affordable. My food was very delicious, however it was cold.
DRINKS: I got a bottle of water for 150 Naira as cocktails are not available. The options basically are soft drinks, malt and water.
SERVICE: The attendant was very polite and she tried to please everybody at the same time. I mean they had quite a lot of costumers so it was really difficult for her. I guess that must have been the reason why she forgot to warm up my food.
RATING: In total, I spent about 2,100 Naira for my meal which I believe is quite affordable. I rate Sumptuous Meals, Ikeja a 7 over 10. Food was delish! However, I think they should do something about the cramped up space and hire extra hands. I will definitely try them out again when I’m in the neighborhood.
