I was checking out instagram when I stumbled upon a post from Swiftley. Trust your girl; I immediately downloaded the app from Apple store and inputted my personal details. Swiftley promised 50% off first rides upon using the Swiftley promo code LAGOS16 but that didn’t work out as it kept saying Invalid referral code. Basically, Swfitley offers the same services as Taxify, Uber, Oga Taxi and Afro. However, they have similar rates with Taxify so I was pretty excited to try them out immediately.

MY SWIFTLEY EXPERIENCE:

FIRST ATTEMPT:

I downloaded the app, but there were no drivers so I opted for UBER.

SECOND ATTEMPT:

I was at Adeniran Ogunsanya Mall, and no drivers still, so I opted for Taxify.

THIRD ATTEMPT:

I was in Surulere and needed a cab to Dominos. My instinct directed me to use UBER or Taxify but because of you guys, yes you, I tried them again. This time, only one driver was available and he was 15 minutes away.

Basically, the app shows you the available cab driver and details (name/picture/phone number), the plate number/car model, and the approximate pick up time. A fare estimate can also be requested prior to requesting a cab.

I called my driver to know his true estimated time of arrival and he was about 30 minutes away from me. Since I was in a hurry, I had to cancel the trip. Apparently, they charge a cancellation fee of 500NGN after 5 minutes of requesting.

OVERALL:

I think they need to spread the word about their business as fast as possible and sign up more drivers. We all know that most drivers are on multiple platforms. I rate them a 3/10. The app can be quite frustrating especially when requesting a ride. Also, I believe it is too early in the game to start charging for cancellation especially since they don’t have drivers.

I think taxify should equally get more drivers too. The last time i used them, i had to try severally before i could get a driver
