I hardly ever watch Yoruba movies. The thing is I don’t understand the language and sometimes the subtitles might be too short for the amount of words being spoken. In fact the subtitles might be wrong in general. But I was bored! And my friend encouraged me to see UNFORGIVABLE. Check out my review below.
MAIN CREW
PRODUCER : DAYO AMUSA
DIRECTOR : DESMOND ELLIOT
MAIN CHARACTERS
DESMOND ELLIOT – RICHARD SNR
MIKE EZUNRONYE – DAMOLA SNR
DAYO AMUSA – ADESEWA SNR
NIYI JOHNSON – RICHARD JNR
WALE AKANBI – DAMOLA JNR
IBIRONKE ASHAOLU – ADESEWA JNR
STORY LINE –
The movie begins with an old man having a flashback to the past. It shows Damola and Richard (JNR) all in a club, having fun.
The Past: Damola is a serial womanizer. He enjoys using girls and sadly girls like him a lot. He is the “Happening” guy. Fresh, Fine, Smart, Lover boy in general. On the other hand, Richard is “Composed”, smart as well, but enjoys reading all day. He doesn’t have time for girls, he is definitely not a player.
The Twist: Richard is in love with Adesewa, but she is in love with Damola and is ready to do anything to have him. In fact, she did a lot of daring, crazy things to have him, you will have to watch to find out.
The Present: Adesewa finally, against all odds marries Damola, who ends up beating her, maltreating her, even raping her. A lot of other things happen though, and they both lose people dear to them.
THE GOOD
This movie is wonderful! It is educative and I was quite surprised to see Desmond Elliot and Mike Ezunronye speak Yoruba. They tried as much as possible to be fluent. There was enough emotion from the main characters and the message was well delivered.
THE UGLY
There was this hospital scene, where BUKKY WRIGHT was the Dr, and she was terrible. She broke the cancer news without emotion! In fact, she looked very happy that her patient was dying. Also, there were some minor typographical errors which would have been corrected if proper editing was done.
MY RATING
I rate this movie a 7 over 10, and trust me, that is very high. I am proud of Dayo Amusa; she has redeemed herself. I urge all of you to see this movie and continue to say no to wife battering and yes to good health. 🙂
See trailer here , watch the movie and let us know what you think!
Can’t wait to see the movie…
The movie is highly emotional, talks more on domestic violence and its hazard and also on cervical cancer. Its a nice movie generally.

Seems very interesting. I don’t watch movies that aren’t in English but I’m excited to see this one…just not sure where to watch it online…
